Abstract
Objective:To observe the treatment effect and adverse reactions of fast conversion of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia by Verapamil.Method: Clinical data of patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia treated with at least once intravenous injection of Verapamil in our hospital from January 2010 to June 2013(n=103) were analyzed. The first loading dose was 5 mg Verapamil in 20 ml of 5% glucose or physiological saline solution, and it was intravenously injected within 5 to 10 min, which was suspended immediately if supraventricular tachycardia was switched to sinus rhythm during the injection, and a repeated injection was did after 20 min if the first dose was ineffective.Result:There were 96 cases in 103 cases successfully restored their sinus rhythms, and the success rate was 93.2%, and 8 cases(7.8%) showed adverse reactions. Conclusion:Verapamil is effective to treat paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia with a high cardioversion rate and fewer adverse reaction. Therefore, it should be the first-line drug in the treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia in the emergency room, and a correct use method may further improve its effect.
