A Study on Poetic Spirit and Artistic Style of Chen Jingrong

Chen Jingrong is profoundly cultivated by ancient Chinese classical poetry and influenced by the new poetry in the period of May Fourth Movement and the western symbolic poetry(from Baudelaire to Learck).Therefore,in her poems creation she naturally combines Chinese traditional poetic beauty with artistic techniques of western symbolic poetry which focuses on symbol,image and implication,and the ideological contents of her poems are tightly linked with the new age spirit.Her poems are greatly different from those of the western fin-de-siede symbolism.It is her feelings of embracing the brightness that steels herself a sale poet whose poems are deep,inflexible,powerful and positive.So her poems are still giving us great enlightenment and inspiration.
