Drug Susceptibility Experiment of Three Common Herbal Medicines for Helicobacter Pylori in the Region of Shanxi Province

Objective To observe the in vitro inhibition of coptis chinensis,scutellaria baicalensis and rheum officinale for helicobacter pylori(Hp)in the region of Shanxi province.Methods After the endoscopy in the upper digestive tract,one piece of biopsy tissue was collected from the sinuses ventriculi(within 5cm to the pylorus).Hp isolation culture was performed [Columbia agar with 10% sheep blood and antibiotic contained,in the slight aerobic condition(5% O2,10% CO2,85% N2)at 37°C,culturing for 72 h].Results 72 isolated Hp strains presented the drug susceptibility to coptis chinensis.Of them,48 strains(66.7%)presented the high susceptibility,24 strains(33.3%)the moderate susceptibility and 0 strain the low susceptibility.For the drug susceptibility to scutellaria baicalensis,26 strains(36%)presented the high susceptibility,28 strains(38.9%)the moderate susceptibility and 18 strains(25.1%)the low susceptibility.For the drug susceptibility to rheum officinale,10 strains(13.9%)presented the high susceptibility,39 strains(54.1%)the moderate susceptibility and 23 strains(32%)the low susceptibility.Conclusion Coptis chinensis,scutellaria baicalensis and rheum officinale present a certain Hp inhibition and the effect of rheum officinale is especially obvious.
