Abstract

In the paper,we compared the effects of pruning cultivation and non-pruning cultivation on the growth period and economic yield of pepper cultivar Bolazhenlong in the same field. The results showed that, pruning cultivation could enhance plant resistance and commercial quality of fruits, and improve the wind and light environment between plants and make the occurrence of plant diseases and insects relieved.Meanwhile, pruning cultivation could increase the fruit-setting number, single fruit weight and commercial fruit number, and improve the yield and quality of pepper and increase the planting benefit. And the yield of trained pepper plants was 2 118.20 kg/667 m2,which was 222.01 kg/667 m2 higher than that of non-trained pepper plants.
