Pondering over Current Situation of Asphalt Concrete Pavement Design in China

Asphalt concrete pavement is the main type of pavement structure in China.Here introduces the history of asphalt concrete pavement.The design method of asphalt concrete pavement is renovated many times during the 20th century,from the original mechanic method to empirical method and to mechanic-empirical method.CBR method and AASHTO method influence the world widely.Chinese asphalt pavement specification has origin from the Soviet Union,and revised many times during 60-years uses,while the essence of the method is not changed,so there are many flaws left.According to the main problems existed in the specification and design procedure in China,some advices are proposed for the pavement design enterprises.
