Abstract
A new RuCoB/ Al2O3 catalyst was prepared by reduction impregnation method and was used for the partial hydrogenation of benzene. The performance of the catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexene was performed in liquid catalytic system. The effect of reaction temperature, hydrogen pressures, the concentrations of ZnSO4 and diethanolamine were investigated in detail. The hydrogenation results showed that in the presence of ZnSO4,the addition of amine could significantly enhance the yield of cycylohexene. The maximum cyclohexene yield of 34.8% was achieved with diethanolamine as an additive, while the yields of cyclohexene were only 20.4% with ZnSO4 and 16.3% with diethanolamine.
