To Evaluate the Effect and Methods of Three Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy (3DCRT) on Esophageal Carcinoma

Objective To Evaluate the Effect and Methods of Three Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy(3DCRT) on Esophageal Carcinoma.Methods 96 cases with esophageal carcinoma were divided into two groups: 48 patients in late course accelerated hyperfrationation radiotherapy(LCAHR) group received convention fractionation radiotherapy(CFR) during the first two third of the treatment,the dose was 36～40 Gy,then followed by LCAFR;48 patients in control group were treated with 3DCRT conventional fraction,and the results were analyzed.Results The 1-,2-,3-year locally control rates were 79.2%,68.8%,50.0% in the LCAHR group and 60.4%,47.9%,29.2% in control group respectively(P0.05);The 1-,2-,3-year survival rates were 81.3%,70.8%,52.1% and 72.9%,56.3%,33.3% respectively(P0.01);The disease-free survival rates were 70.8%,64.6%,45.8% and 54.2%,43.8%,25%(P0.01).Conclusions 3DCRT was a effective methods to treating esophageal carcinoma,it can improve locally control rate and survival rate,3DCRT LCAHR may improve curative effect compared to the conventional radiotherapy,but the main failure reason was distant metastasis.It needs chemotherapy.
