Abstract
In engineering signal processing, parameters of the signal are often beyond the requirements of being small parameters in adiabatic approximation approach or linear response theory of stochastic resonance. In the paper, the mechanism and condition requirements of stochastic resonance of nonlinear bistable system were discussed.By combining the frequency modulation technique with the theory of stochastic resonance,a method based on modulated stochastic resonance was suggested to achieve weak signal detection in engineering applications.Numerical simulations prove its effectiveness. The method has been successfully used to detect the fault of pitting corrosion on bearing inner race.
