Abstract
Objective To study the metabolic differences among normal Wistar rat,high fat diet group and models of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS)was applied to the fecal metabolite profiling.Principal components analysis(PCA)models were employed for the discrimination of the three groups.Results Significant differences in endogenous metabolite profiles were observed in control group,high fat diet group and models of type 2 diabetes.Three potential biomarkers were discovered.Conclusions Metabolite profiling study of fecal samples can be successfully used to diagnose the models of type 2 diabetes.
