Abstract
Aim To evaluate the factors which might influence the early outcome of acute subdural hematoma. Methods Fourteen clinical factors on 305 cases of acute subdural hematoma were studied retrospectively in this article with Logistic regression analysis and χ 2 test. The early outcome was assessed after 1 month. Results GCS, pupillary changes, age, size of injuries, brain swelling, the need of skull flap abanding during operation or not, and postoperative hyperthermia influenced the early outcome. Conclusion The 7 clinical features listed above are valuable predicting factors, and among them the GCS and pupillary changes have significant prognostic value in predicting the early outcome of acute subdural hematoma.
