Abstract

This paper elaborates the technical features of static VAR compensator(SVC),introduces SVC operation experience in Shanghai Shinan area,as well as its technical advantages and practical effects.Then its applicability in regional power network is analyzed with respect to power quality improvement,network loss reduction,and power system stability reinforcement.
