A Review of Yunnan's Politics of Border Area in the First Half of the 20~(th) Century

In the first half of the 20th century,the development of Yunnan's politics of the border area experienced three stages: inchoation,climax and extension.Especially during the Anti-Japanese War,its research achievements were remarkable,and Yunnan became one of the two major cities in the study of border area politics in China.These striking achievements are attributed to Yunnan's special geographical position bordering on several countries,to the changes of position of Yunnan politics of the border area from periphery to center in the Chinese cultural study,to the various factors from the rear to the outpost in Anti-Japanese War.This article,based on the previous researches,makes a systematic review of Yunnan's politics of the border area in the first half of the 20th century.
