XINJIANG MAIN PROGRESS OF GEOLOGYAND MINERAL RESOURCES EXPLORATION IN 2004 AND THE 2005’S WORK THOUGHT

In Xinjiang geological exploration of 2004, very important progresses were made in exploration of copper-nickel, gold, lead-zinc, antimony, tungsten, iron, coal, and non-metal etc., which had found a number of mineral occurrences, expanded deposit prospects, increased resource reserve, decided on a number of important mineralization zones, and made new finds and knowledge in basic geological research. The geological exploration of 2005 continuously insists on the general arrangement of attacking Tianshan, deepening Altay and opening up Kunlun and Aerjing, and the work principle of regional program, regional survey, geochemical and geophysical investigation, prospecting and scientific research in union, and explores the mineral resources that country and local region urgently demand such as coal, rich iron, copper-nickel, rich lead-zinc, gold and uranium etc., and finds super-large to large and apparent economical deposit types. The geological exploration of 2005 is about to carry on of basic geology and mineral resources survey and mineral resource assessment, serve mine developing, and start commercial mineral resource exploration with means by protruding main points, increasing investment, strengthening comprehensive finding minerals, and producing and scientific research in union, and finally, make great efforts realize a new break of finding minerals.
