Abstract

The low temperature performances of lube base oils produced by different processing technologies were tested by the comparison of the dynamic viscosity-temperature curves. The relationship between the low temperature performance and the chemical composition of base oil,and the base oil' s sensitiveness to pour point depressant were studied in this paper.Research results showed that, the low temperature performance of hydroisomerized base oils is better among all the base oils which are in the same viscosity grade. And solvent-refined base oils are more sensitive to pour point depressant.
