The Treatment of Comminuted Calcaneal Fracture

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of comminuted calcaneal fracture with operation.Methods Twenty-one feet of comminuted calcaneal fractures were treated by abnormity calcaneus metal plate.According to Sanders classification system,five feet of type Ⅳ,ten feet of typeⅡand six feet of type Ⅲ.Results All cases were followup for 6～24months,all cases recovered with good healing of fracture.According to Maryland criteria,an excellent outcome was found in 15 feet,good in 4,fair in 1,poor in 1.The excellent and good rate was over 90%.Conclusion It is a good method for the treatment of comminuted calcaneal fracture with open reduction and internal fixation of abnormity calcaneus metal plate.
