Abstract

Objective To analyze the distribution of obesity in Han adolescents of Yanbian. Methods ① A total of 1 658 Han adolescents were finally selected from four high schools in Antu County of Yanbian and the survey were carried out in April 2008 and 2009.All of students knew the informed consent.② Inquiries were performed in accordance with unified questionnaire(including the general information).Height, weight, waist circumference(WC),hip circumference(Hip) were measured on the base of the Rules on the Physical Fitness and Health Research of China School Students in 2005.The body mass index(BMI,kg/m2),waist hip ratio(WHR) and waist height ratio(WHtR) were calculated as the evaluation of obesity.Overweight and obesity were detected by the Working Group on Obesity in China(WGOC) and BMI≥24.0 and ≥28.0 were used as cut-off points, respectively. Results Out of 1 658 cases,771 cases(46.5%) were male, and 887 cases(53.5%) were female.①The average level of HT,WT,WC,Hip and BMI in boys was significantly higher than that in girls(all P0.01).For boy,the level(kg/m2) of BMI was 23.7 in P85 and 26.2 in P95,respectively;for girl, which was 22.7 in P85 and 25.0 in P95,respectively.②The detection rate of overweight was 11.2% in boys and 7.1% in girls, and that of the obesity was 13.5% in boys and 8.6% in girls, there were significant sex differences(all P0.01).③There was a significant positive correlation between BMI and weight,WC,Hip,WHR and WHtR,and the value of the partial correlate coefficient were 0.893,0.548,0.584,0.056 and 0.555(all P0.05),respectively.④The results of multifactor analysis showed that the general obesity was closely related with sex, weight, abdominal obesity and the value of OR 81.052,1.520 and 6.457,respectively.Conclusion ①The average level of BMI of Han adolescents in this region is lower than that of WGOC standard and the prevalence of overweight and obesity is close to some big and medium cities.②There is a significant positive correlation between BMI and WT,WC,Hip,WHR,WHtR.The general obesity is closely related with gender, body weight and abdominal obesity.
