Abstract

Two EHV transmission projects,i.e.,the first 750kV transmission line from Guanting to Lanzhoudong of Northwest Power Grid in China and the new type of 765kV transmission line from Wyoming to Jacksons Ferry of AEP in United States that will be completed soon, are briefly introduced and compared. The author holds that both the two transmission lines possess the same actual operating voltage and similar transmission distance, and achieve advanced technological level by means of making structural innovations, namely adopting new wire bundle design and new type of towers.Nonetheless,China possesses more superior social conditions for the construction of transmission line, thus relying on this superiority, the all determinate domestic EHV and UHV projects should be strived to construct to eliminate the dissimilarity between the power generation and power transmission in China.
