Abstract

A fair number of words make people feel embarrassed and unhappy in communication. In order to avoid the embarrassment or ease the sting of harsh words, people have created euphemism. Euphemism is a common phenomenon when people use language. This paper tries to research on the communicative function of English Euphemism in certain language conditions through special examples from linguistics angle.
