Abstract
The process of direct reducing smelting by electric furnace was adopted to extract ferronickel from laterite. The effect of reductant(coke) and flux(limestone) ratio on nickel grade in ferrous-nickel alloy and metal recovery were studied, effect and mechanism of slag component on sulphur and phosphorus distribution ratio(LS,LP) were analyzed.Comprehensively considered nickel grade and metal recovery, determined the optimum coke proportion was 11% and the optimum flux proportion is 11%.Under the optimal smelting conditions, nickel recovery was 97.6% and nickel grade was 22.8%,LS,LP was 0.024,0.145 respectively.
