On the Influence of Buddhism and Taoism Thoughts upon the aesthetic Sentiment of the Literati in Tang Dynasty

In Tang Dynasty, various religionary sects coexisted. Taoism, as the state religion in Tang Dynasty, appeased the aesthetic psychology of the people presuming upon prolonging life and advocating natural gusto. Buddhism made it possible for the Tang people to seek a peachful and sequester artistic conception. The contemporary poetry revealed the peculiarity implicative but not dark, concrete and visional in the esthetics. This paper concludes Buddhism and Taoism lead the differentiating and analyse ability and the aesthetic consciousness of the whole nation to a newer and more lofty level in Tang Dynasty.
