Advances in research on the methods for content determination of scopolamine and its preparations

As a kind of tropane alkaloids,scopolamine can be used as preanesthesia medicine and in the treatment of motion sickness.There are many formulations of scopolamine preparations such as tablet,injection,patch,capsule and so on in the market.There are many different methods for content determination of scopolamine in different formulations.In this article,several methods for content determination of scopolamine in different preparations were introduced and compared.The HPLC method has the advantages of higher separation efficiency,better specificity,higher sensitivity than other methods and is used most widely for content determination of scopolamine in different preparations.
