Abstract

This study has tried to make a comprehensive review of the development of education economics in Japan, by focusing on quantitative analyses. It did not only give a description of the existing researches, but also made a detailed comparison of their intentions, approaches, results and political implications. This paper is composed of six sections: human capital and return to education, education and labor market, education input and output, education as a firm, education demand. However, because of the data limitation, there remain some fields to be investigated and discussed.
