Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of nodular goiter underwent surgery treatment. Methods:A total of 130 consecutive patients were enrolled from January 2008 to April 2011 in the study. The recovery condition, complications, relapse were studied retrospectively. Results:Bilateral diseases were 109 cases(83.3%),unilateral diseases were 21 cases(16.2%),ones complicated with hyperthyroidism were 8 cases(6.2%) which were detected with B ultrasound. The ones needs another surgery were 6 cases(4.6%).Less peri-operative bleeding, did not appear thyroid crises laryngeal nerve injury, serious complications. Conclusion:Surgery treatment is still recognized as the main treatment of nodular goiter, while the high relapse rate is suggested obviously. Thus, the indications and further efficacy should be investigated furthermore.
