Abstract

By analyzing some representative modern landscape architecture works, the design style of Japanese modern landscape architecture are discussed from the aspects of historical culture, urban development, and ecology construction. Therefore, three important characteristics about those design style are summarized in this article. First, the landscape architecture design emphasized inheriting the historical and cultural traditions through the case study of the modern design in classical garden, the design of tradition and modern feature coexistence, and the modern design with tradition regression. Second, the landscape architecture form and also the function harmonized with the city developing process through the analysis of the correlativeness of landscape architecture and urban development. Finally, based on the ecology design, the landscape architecture design made more contributions to the environment through the analysis of the emphasis on the plant diversity and the application of ecology design in landscape architecture.
