Abstract

The paper presents a new preconditioner which generalizes two known preconditioners proposed by D. J. Evans, and proves that the convergence rate of the AOR method with the new preconditioner is faster than the known preconditioners, respectively. The obtained comparison theorems generalize some existing results. Finally, numerical example illustrates the effciency of the new preconditioner.
