Abstract

Objective:To analyze the expression of CycinD1 and β-catenin in the tissues of gastric carcinoma and its lymphatic metastasis, and to explore their relationship, role in tumoral differentiation, invasion and metastasis. Methods: The expressions of CycinD1 andβ-catenin were detected by immunohistochemistry(IHC) in 50 cases of gastric carcinoma. Results:Immunohistochemical analysis of tissue microarrays demonstratedβ-catenin protein expression in 78.0% of the gastric carcinoma and only in 60.0% of gastric adenoma.β-catenin expression was associated with tumor differrentiation status and lymph node metastasis. While in tumors depth and size, there was no significance.CycinD1 expression was associated with tumor differrentiation status. While in tumors depth and lymph node metastasis, there was no significance.Conclusion:β-catenin expression was associated with invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma. The abnormal expression of β-cat activaes CycinD1,and Results in unchecked proliferation and differentiation of the cell, and these might be important factors for judging invasion of gastric carcinoma.
