Abstract

The adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) by using ion exchange fiber adsorbent was studied.Equilibrium data for adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) from aqueous solution by ion exchanged fiber adsorbent within the temperature range of 298~318K and observed concentration range were obtained with the Freundlich-type isotherm equations.Freundlich equivalent adsorptive enthalpy of the adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) indicated that the process of adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) from aqueous solutions by ion exchange fiber was an endothermic process.Estimations of adsorptive enthalpy, free energy, and entropy of adsorption were reported, and the adsorption behavior was reasonably interpreted.
