An analysis of temporal-spatial features of land use and landscape pattern in lower reaches of the Weihe River

Combining the ecological quantity analytical method with RS and GIS technology,based on the three TM images of lower reaches Weihe River basin from 1998 to 2008,the changes of land use/cover and landscape pattern of the area are analyzed in this paper.The results show that the residential areas increased obviously,areas of grassland,forest,wetland and unused land decreased,areas of farmland increased first then decreased.The analysis of landscape index shows that,due to the disturbance of human activities,the degree of landscape polymerization and the size of different landscape patches first increase then decrease,the landscape heterogeneity of the area first go up then go down.
