Abstract

Objectives: To compare the curative effect of Letrozole and Clomiphene on ovulation of patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS). Methods: 90 patients with PCOS,who were given medical treatment in the hospital, were selected and divided into experimental group and control group. The patients in experimental group were given 5mg Letrozole per day from the third day to the seventh day in a menstrual cycle, and patients in control group were given 100 mg Clomiphene per day from the third day to the seventh day in a menstrual cycle. The follicular development of patients in two groups was supervised after the tenth day in a menstrual cycle. 5000 ~ 10000 U Human Chorionic Gonadotropin(HCG) was injected to induce ovulation, when the follicular diameter(FD) was ≥18mm.The number of mature follicles, endometrial thickness, serum sex hormone levels(LH,E2,T),ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of patients in two groups were observed and compared on the day of injection of HCG. Results: The number of mature follicles and endometrial thickness of patients in experimental group were much better than those in control group on the day of injection of HCG(P 0. 05 or P 0. 01). The ovulation rate and pregnancy rate of patients in experimental group were much better than those in control group(χ2=4. 44,3. 99,P 0. 05),and the serum sex hormone E2 level of patients in experimental group was much lower than that in control group on the day of injection of HCG(P0.01). Conclusion: Compared with Clomiphene,Letrozole has favorable induced ovulation effect on PCOS,with high pregnancy rate, which can effectively reduce the anti estrogen effect and occurrence of multifetation.
