Towards Construction of the Chinese Philosophy in the context of China and European Cultural Exchanges

Chinese scholars, since the beginning of the twentieth century, have made an effort in defining the Chinese philosophy when western philosophies become influential in China. They have worked out several modern styles of the Chinese philosophy by learning from the western philosophy and tapping the traditional Chinese thought. The Chinese philosophy, however, is unique in its meanings and core values, and Chinese philosophers must hold on to the Chinese tradition to make a contribution to the world of philosophy. There are Chinese philosophical phrases or terms that do not agree with any western ones, and transliteration or notes should be applied in the case. This will help maintain the richness and characteristics of the Chinese philosophy.
