Abstract

Objective To study the effects of berberine on apoptosis and cell cycle of human hepatocellular carcinoma SMMC- 7721 cells,and provide scientific reference for clinical treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma( hcc). Methods SMMC- 7721 hepatocarcinoma cell people,were cultured in medium with 500 μM,250 μM,125 μM,62. 5 μM,31. 25 μM,0 μM of berberine in. In 0 h,24 h,cell activity using the MTT method were measured by 48 h,72 h,statistical analysis based on the method. The effect of berberine on apoptosis and cell cycle of human hepatocellular carcinoma cells SMMC- 7721 was analyzed. Results Berberine has obvious inhibitory effect on SMMC- 7721 human liver cancer cell growth. With the increase of concentration and action time of the inhibition,berberine showed an upward trend,but will not affect the replication cycle of human hepatocellular carcinoma SMMC- 7721 cells. Conclusion Berberine can inhibit the SMMC- 7721 on human hepatocellular carcinoma cell growth,and induce cell apoptosis. The effect was positively related to the degree and affect time and concentration,but no effect on cell proliferation cycle.
