The Structuring of City Group based on Province-level Administrative Region:A Case Study of the Great Nanchang City Group

City group has become a basic unit for a country or region to participate in the global competition and international division of labor.It is very necessary to structure city groups based on province-level administrative regions in our country.With the example of the great Nanchang city group,this paper mainly probes into the theoretical basis for structuring city groups based on province-level administrative region and the conditions for the forming and growth of city groups.According to the result of this research,Jiangxi should structure the great Nanchang city group,circling around Nanchang and covering Jiujiang,Xinyu,Fuzhou,Yingtan,etc.,and make it a nation-wide high-tech and modern manufacturing base,a production and processing base of agricultural products,and an integrated traffic and transportation hinge,and build it into an economic intensive zone with reasonable spatial structure,harmonious development between social economy,resources and environment,and of high competitiveness.For this purpose,we should follow the growth law of big city groups,and do well the work of implementation in the aspects of planning,organization,regional division of labor and cooperation,urban spatial structure,integration,regional innovation,industrial clustering,etc.
