Abstract
Objective:To prepare a medium for identifying and counting Bifidobacterium in stool. Methods:Majority of Bifidobacterium have Tilactase and upper enzyme activity,so add X Gal in the improved self made BS medium as the substrate,Bifidobacterium hydrolysis substrate and release indole, which induces color response. Results: Bifidobacterium colony show dark blue, and other Bacteria generally show white or light blue. Conclusion:For the obvious identification between and other Bacteria on the improved self made medium,it can apply to identify and count Bifidobacterium in stool.
