On the Confucian Erudition of Ji Kang

Abstract

Ji Kang,as the principal exponent of the Dark Learning of the famous bamboo school in the Wei-Jin periods,has been focused by most scholars on his thought of scorning and rebellion of Confucianism and his worship of Taoism and nature.In fact,Ji Kang studied and followed both Confucianism and Taoism.He didn't abandon Confucianism at all.On the contrary,he had deep-seated Confucian erudition,which was especially shown in the aspect of Ji Kang's self erudition,his ethic value,his idea of loyality and the family education to his son.
