Abstract
By analyzing the specific data from foreign direct investment and the economic growth in Cangzhou during 2002-2011and using the Cobb Douglas production function model first, the paper concludes that the FDI has a significant role in promoting economic growth. To analyze the relationship between FDI and economic growth better, then we use the unit root test and the same order list of building co-integration model to discover that there is a long-term co-integration relationship between them.Subsequently, through the Granger causality test,we conclude that FDI is the cause of the economic growth, while economic growth is not the cause of FDI and put forward some suggestions for absorbing FDI.
