Abstract

As a typical representative of China's private gardens, Suzhou Gardens is characterized by its artistic conception, which is reflected in three forms:(1)the culture-loaded couplets inscribed in the steles;(2)the personified symbolism of the plants in the gardens; and (3)the harmony of spatial layout. The integration of the three forms contribute to the formation of the artistic conception of Suzhou Gardens.
