Abstract

Pancreatic lesions are one of the major challenges in imaging diagnosis. The purpose of this article was to investigate the value of real-time contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the diagnosis of pancreatic lesions. Materials and Methods: 140 focal pancreatic lesions were diagnosed with CEUS and baseline ultrasound simultaneously. The final diagnosis was confirmed by pathological evidences. Results: In the pathologically confirmed 80 malignant tumors and 60 benign lesions, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of CEUS were 85.0%、85.0% and 85.0%, respectively. While the baseline ultrasound were 62.50%, 46.67% and 55.71%, respectively. The CEUS also had higher positive and negative predictive values of 93.15% and 87.93%, respectively.Conclusion: Real-time CEUS is an effective imaging modality in diagnosis of the pancreatic diseases.
