Abstract

Objective:To investigate and access the clinical technique and efficacy of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined contact pneumatic lithotripsy for upper urinary lithiasis treatment.Methods:706 patients with 743 lateral calculi underwent mimimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined contact pneumatic lithotripsy.Results:From Sep 1999 to Aug 2005, 706 patients underwent I?II period or two-step percutaneous nephrolithotomy using a combined pneumatic lithotrite, including renal stag horn stone,poly kidney calculi, ESWL failure calculi, solitary kidney calculi, recurrent calculi after open surgery and upper ureteric calculi. Clinical data was analyzed retrospectively, stone clearance rate was 91.6% and 98.4% for kidney and ureteric stone, respectively; No serious surgery-concerned complication occurred during nephrolithotomy after 1 to 12 month fellow up.Conclusions:The minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy combined pneumatic device appears to be minimally invasive, quick recovery, less complication, efficacious, safe and high stone-free rate for upper urinary calculi remove.
