Abstract

Many recent studies have focused on yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG) laser transparent ceramics,because they have incomparable superiority over single crystal and glass laser materials.YAG laser transparent ceramic doped by rare earth element with high performance was largely reported.The progress in investigations on yttrium aluminum garnet(YAG) laser transparent ceramics was systematically reviewed in this paper,mainly including the synthesis of YAG fine powders,sintering additives and the densification sintering technology of YAG transparent ceramic.The applications of YAG laser ceramics were discussed in the end.
