Abstract

In this paper,we analyze the correlations of seismic intensity with 24 ground motion parameters calculated from 115 strong ground motion records obtained in eight destructive earthquakes of China by using the least squares method and weighted least squares method. The correlation between ground motion parameters with seismic intensity is also studied. The statistics results indicate that 5% damping ratio of the mean horizontal velocity response spectra PSVs and peak velocity PGV are the best two parameters correlaed with the seismic intensity. In addition, comparative analysis has been done between the results of this paper with similar results,to provide a reference for the establishmental of the standard instrumental intensity in our country.
