This article analyzes the issue of enterprise competition and reasons that enterprise competitors include not only those in the product market but also those in the element market. The author concludes that the chief components of enterprises will change in accordance with different product life cycles. On the basis of the aforementioned study, we propose that enterprise competitiveness should be divided into three types of force- market, element and operation efficiency-measuring enterprise competitiveness in terms of input, output and transformation. Among these three forces, competitiveness of the element market and enterprise operation efficiency occupy more weight in terms of enterprise competitiveness.
