Abstract
The low velocity impact behaviors and residual compressive strength of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE)/LLDPE composite laminates reinforced with different architectures fabric, unidirectional prepreg,2Dwoven and 3Dorthogonal fabrics, were studied by using a drop-weight impact equipment and universal testing machine, respectively. The load-displacement curves of samples were investigated. The damage modes and residual compressive strength were also discussed in this paper. Results show that the load-displacement curve of single-ply 3Dorthogonal woven fabric composite laminates is smooth and the damage mode is only for plastic deformation.Moreover,single-ply 3Dorthogonal woven fabric composite laminates exhibit better energy absorbed capacity and residual compressive strength.
