Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of focal cerebral ischemic postconditioning on the expression of SOD、MDA.Methods:The model of focal brain ischemia was made by an intraluminal suture occulusion of the middle cerebral artery(MCA) in rats.144 adult male wistar rats were divided randomly into 3 groups:sham-operated group, controlled group(ischemia-reperfusion group),ischemic postconditioning group.Sham-operated group received sham surgery only. And the controlled group received 90 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).But the ischemic postconditioning group received the three cycles of 30 secs of reperfusion and 30 secs of middle cerebral artery occlusion after 90 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO).After all groups were subjected 12,24,48 and 72 hours of the reperfusion, the activities of SOD and the concentration of MDA were measured in every group. Results:The expression of SOD in ischemic postconditioning group were obviously higher than it in ischemia-reperfusion group at different reperfusion time points, and the expression of MDA in ischemic postconditioning group were lower than it in ischemia-reperfusion group at different reperfusion time points. Conclusions:Ischemic postconditioning increase the expression of SOD and reduce the expression of MDA to enhance the anti-oxidative ability in brain after cerebral-schemia/ reperfusion.
