The expression of platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa and its clinical significance in patients with immunne thrombocytopenic purpura

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of platelet glycoprotein Ⅱb/Ⅲa and its clinical significance in patients with immunne thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP).Methods The positive rates of platelet membrane glyco-protein GPⅡb/Ⅲa in patients with immune and non-immune ITP and in healthy controls were tested by flow cytometry(FCM).Results The immune and non-immune ITP patients were found with lower platelet counts compared with normal controls(P0.01)but there was no significant difference between each other(P0.05).The positive rate of platelet GPⅡb/Ⅲa was lowered in immune and non-immune thrombocytopenica patients compared with normal con-trols(P0.01),and in ITP with non-immune thrombocytopenica(P0.01).Conclusion Flow cytometry for detection of platelet GPⅡb/Ⅲa may have a role in the diagnosis,differential diagnosis and medication for ITP.
