Abstract
The present paper describes a new species of the genus Sineuleia Chen collected from Sichuan Province. The type specimen is deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica. Sineuleia retroflexa sp. nov. (figs. 1-2)(?) Head yellow to yellowish brown. Front equal in width to eye and parallel sided; face shorter than front, surface densely whitish pollnose, upper mouth edge not reflexed; genae rather broad, equal to 1/2 eye height; antennae brown about 1/2 as long as face, the 3rd segment equal to one and half times the length of the 2nd, rounded at apex; aristae almost bare. Three pairs of inferior fronto-orbital bristles directing distinctly inwards and backwards; the ocellar bristles reduced and extremely minute. Thorax yellowish brown, covered with pale yellow pollinose; mesophragma black except for a median yellowish brown longitudinal stripe. Thoracic bristles normal, mesopleurals 2, dorsocentrals situated slightly behind the line of the anterior supraalars. Wing hyaline with brown markings as shown in the fig. 2; vein r4+s nearly parallel to m1+2, spared bristles distributed slightly behind r-m crossvein; the latter situated in the middie of cell 1M2. Leg entirely yellowish brown. Abdomen yellow to brown, the 5th tergum about two times as long as the 4th, with a black brown mark on each basolateral portion.Length: body 4.2 mm; wing 5.0 mm.Holotype (?), Mt. Emei, Sichuan, 2070 m, 18, IX. 1978, by Li Fa-sheng.Closely related to S. consobrina (Zia), but is distinguished by the genae broader, equal to 1/2 the height of eye; crossvein r-m situated in the middle of cell 1M2 and wing markings also different.
