Application of Radiofrequency Ablation Combined with Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization in Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Radiofrequency Ablation(RFA)combined with Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization(TACE)in the treatment of primary liver cancer.Methods:88patients with primary liver cancer were admitted in our hospital during the period from 2008 February to 2011 March and randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 44 cases in each group.First,two groups of patients were given 3-4 TACE treatment,and each treatment interval was 4-6weeks.Patients in the experimental group were treated with 1-2RFA treatment after 2weeks of the treatment of TACE.After the treatment,the recent curative effect,survival rate and the incidence of adverse reaction were observed and compared between the two groups.Results:After treatment,the short term curative effect of RR in experiment group(75%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(52.3%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.317;P0.05);The 1year survival rate,survival rate of 2years,3years and 3years above in experimental group were 88.6%,59.1%,47.7%respectively,while they were 41.0%,18.2%,6.8% in the control group,which showd bettereffect in the experimental group than in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion:TACE and RFA combined method has a good short-term effect in the treatment of primary liver cancer,and can effectively control the local growth of tumor,and prolong the survival time of patients.
