Abstract
Objective To study the clinical efficacy and complication of percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) in the treatment of aged people,s osteoporotic vertebral body compression fracture. Methods 31 cases with aged people,s osteoporotic vertebral body compression fractures treated by PKP were collected, then the clinical efficacy imageology and complication were analyzed retrospectively. Results The pain of all the patients after surgery was obviously eased and the VAS scores(8.5±1.0) before surgery and(2.1±1.3)after surgery had statistical significance with significant differeence(P0.05);The Cobb's angle(24.7±8.8)°of vertebral bodies before surgery and(10.8±2.5)°after surgery had statistical significance with significant differeence(P0.05);The height(16.7±3.2)mm of vertebral bodies before surgery and(28.2±1.8)mm after surgery had statistical significance with significant differeence(P0.05);Bone cement leakage of 3 cases(3/31).For 3 months after surgery the X-ray showed that all the vertebral body compression fractures had cicatrized. Conclusion PKP can notablely relieve aged patient′s pain with osteoporotic vertebral body compression fractures, and can effectively reduce the height of vertebral bodies with bone fracture.
