Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of tamsulosin combined with solifenacin on BPH with overactive bladder. Methods 85 BPH patients with overactive bladder were randomly divided into single group(n=45)and combination group(n=40).The single group was treated with 0.2 mg tamsulosin once daily for 12 weeks, and the combination group was treated with 0.2 mg tamsulosin and 5 mg solifenacin once daily for 12 weeks. Before and after the treatment,we recorded the International Prostate Symptoms Score(IPSS),quality of life score(QOL),Overactive Bladder Symptoms Score(OABSS),Qmax, and the adverse events. Results In the single group, the IPSS,QOL,Qmax was improved(P0.05).In the combination group, the improvement of IPSS,QOL and OABSS were more significant than those of single group(P0.05).Conclusion The combined use of tamsulosin and solifenacin could not only relieve obstructive symptoms, but also relieve overactive bladder symptoms of BPH patients.
