Abstract

The characteristics of fresh and deactivated catalyst used in the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate were analyzed. It is revealed that the reasons for the deactivation of Pd-Cu/C catalyst were the inner migration of Pd, the loss of chlorine and the adsorption of large molecules. The changing of chloride anion concentration on catalyst was investigated. The catalysis mechanism was tentatively put forward.
