Abstract
Objective To isolate and purify limulus anti\|lipopolysaccharide factor from Chinese horseshoe crabs and test its bioactivity in lipopolysaccharide(LPS) neutralization. Methods Limulus anti\|lipopolysaccharide factor from Chinese horseshoe crabs was purified by ultrafiltration and ion\|exchange chromatography. Its activity was detected by limulus amoebocyte lysate inhibited test. Results The purity of purified limulus anti\|lipopolysaccharide factor from Chinese horseshoe crabs reached more than 90% by SDS\|PAGE. Its molecular weight was 15 68 kD. It could inhibit LPS conglutination in vitro. The ratio of limulus anti\|lipopolysaccharide factor from Chinese horseshoe crabs for complete neutralization to LPS was 500∶1. Conclusion The purified limulus anti\|lipopolysaccharide factor from Chinese horseshoe crab could inhibit activity of LPS in vitro.\;
